Happy Birthday Seth!

Saturday, 2 May, 2009

Happy Birthday Seth,

I hope you have a great day. I can’t believe that you turn 12 today. I know you are here in the house with me now, albeit still sleeping; but I wanted to get something down so I don’t forget this day. I don’t know how much interaction we’ll have in the coming years and this may be the last birthday I get to spend with you.

Today is your day, you get to make all the decisions. You already picked breakfast of corned beef hash and toast. I am now just waiting for you to wake up so I can make that for you. Lunch is apparently going to be Hooters, which definitely works for me too. ;-) Other than that, I don’t have anything else planned. I expect that once you open your presents from me and your brothers, you won’t want to do anything but play the Nintendo DS and Wii.

You’re Mom will pick you up early afternoon. As you’re pulling out of the driveway is always the exact moment that I start missing you; and I do stand at a window and watch as long as I can. I’m sure you will have fun with her tonight. As of now, you are planning on going to Kobe’s for dinner. It’s always fun watching them cook your food right in front of you. I hope you have a great time.

Well, I’m going to pick up the house a little now before any of you kids wake up. I hope you have a Happy Birthday and a great upcoming year. Remember to always be happy. That is my wish for you. If there is ever anything I can do to help make you happy, always know that I will.

Love,

Jason.

Happy Father’s Day

Sunday, 17 June, 2007

For me, the perfect Father’s Day is getting to spend the day just hanging out with my kids. Today has started off great. I put up the tent in my backyard last night so the 3 of us could sleep out there last night. I didn’t really expect them to make it all night outside, but they did. We popped popcorn and hung out in the tent telling stories before we all drifted off to sleep. I’m not sure, but I may have been the first to fall asleep.

Happy Father’s Day to all you dads out there. Enjoy your day.

Happy Mother’s Day

A quick post to wish a Happy Mother’s Day for all you mothers out there. I hope you all have a nice relaxing day.

The sex talk with your daughter

Tuesday, 6 March, 2007

I have a feeling the following conversation would be completely different with boys.

A Mother and 9 year old Daughter were driving by a pharmacy. . .

Mother: That is where you get medicine and pills.

Daughter: I want to get the pill that makes me not have babies.

Mother: (A little awe struck) The best way to do that is to not have sex.

Daughter: (after a few seconds of contemplation) That means you’ve had sex since you have 2 kids.

Mother: Yes, but only with my husband; whom I love.

Daughter: Can you tell me more about sex?

Mother: I can’t explain it right now since we are driving.

Daughter: Well, let me know when you and dad are gunna do it, so that I can see what it is all about.

Suddenly, I’m very happy that I have all boys!

Broken parent rule

Wednesday, 28 February, 2007

I broke a parent rule tonight.  I’m not sure where I would rank this rule, but it should be pretty high.  I’m constantly telling my kids to stop running in the house.  Come on, you know you’ve said it too.  :-)   Well, tonight I was playing with the twins and I took off running away from them.  Did I mention that my floors are a very slippery wood lamenent?  So, I think you know where this is going.  Yes. . . I slipped, fell on my back, and bruised my arm and tail bone.  While I was down there recovering, the boys felt so sorry for me that they brought me pillows.  Wasn’t that sweet?

Sex offender infiltrates 2 Arizona schools

Wednesday, 7 February, 2007

Big news today about a 29 year old sex offender that posed as a 12 year old boy to register in 2 Arizona public schools. He spent months living as a 12 year old, hanging out with all the other children in the school, while he planned his next lewd act. On a side note that has a hint of humor to this story; Neil Havens convinced another man that he was indeed a 12 year old and had the older man register him at school. All the while these men lived together in a sexual relationship.

This story disturbs me, as a parent, on so many levels. EVERY public school should be required to go through further detailed steps to ensure that our children are in an environment free of sex offenders on campus. I’m sure, or at least I hope, that these Arizona schools are tightening their security.

Welcome to Bliss99 Parenting

Tuesday, 6 February, 2007

To start off, NO, I don’t consider myself the best parent in the world. This site was designed for me to post helpful hints for parents and to share humorous and sometimes not so humorous stories of my children’s activities. If you don’t know, I have 3 boys; one 9 and twin 4 year olds. If nothing else, it should be a semi-interesting read, so come back often and post some comments of your own.
