So the last couple days have been pretty good with Parker and Casey. Last night we had a Cub Scout meeting where they got to earn their Science belt loop. One of the other parents is a 3rd grade teacher and her favorite subject is science. She led the scouts in performing an experiment. They learned how to lift another scout into the air using their breath. They got a long “Windbag” and lay it on the floor. Their partner then lay on it while they blew into it. Eventually, the had enough air in there that their partner was lifter off the ground. They thought it was pretty cool.

Tonight, the boys were in such a good mood that I just wanted play with them all night. Instead, after dinner we played with the windbags from last night then watched a movie. “Hotel for Dogs” was a very nice family movie. The boys couldn’t keep from laughing at the many personalities of all the dogs. Friday was kinda the leader of all the dogs. I think he was their favorite.

I might just sleep tonight with the vision of the smiles they had tonight running through my head.

If you remember, Parker had a little trouble watching hockey on SportsCenter a while back. Well, he’s at it again. Last night, he and his brothers with up in Seth’s room watching a movie. (Or so we thought) A game of Hide-and-Seek broke out and yada yada yada . . .

Apparently, one of the twins weren’t watching where they were going and Parker’s cheek hit Casey’s head. Casey fell down from the contact, but Parker got the worse of it. This picture was taken after the swelling went down a little bit.

When my wife became pregnant, we got lots of advise from friends and family. Some of it you have to take with a grain of salt, as much of it is useless information for you. One piece of advise that I did follow was getting the book Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. This book was amazingly accurate when it came to children’s sleep habits and needs.

You don’t believe me? Check this out. We have an older son, who was 5 when the twins were born. We also moved into a new house the very same week that the twins were born. So were going along, after their birth, getting the new house situated, taking care of all 3 children, and getting very little sleep ourselves. We jumped to the section of the book regarding 5 year old sleep habits and needs, to find something semi-creepy. That section actually stated: “Your 5 year old can have problems sleeping for many reasons, including moving to a new house or the new birth of twin siblings.” Are you kidding me? This book new my exact situation. Like I said, a little creepy.

This site was designed for me to post helpful hints for parents and to share humorous and sometimes not so humorous stories of my children’s activities. If you don’t know, I have 3 boys; one 9 and twin 4 year olds. If nothing else, it should be a semi-interesting read, so come back often and post some comments of your own.
